Alan Robinson entered the professional timber industry in 1980, focusing on the maintenance and repair of forest machinery.

Following in his father's footsteps, Ross Robinson developed a passion for forestry from a young age and soon after completing his education, he delved into the forestry machinery market.

In 2002, Ross and his brother teamed up to establish Robinson Distribution Limited, offering top-notch repair and maintenance services for timber harvesting and log handling equipment. As the business flourished, in 2006, Portnahinch Products Ltd was founded to cater to the firewood market and private forestry sector, representing renowned brands like Uniforest, Duun, Tajfun-liv, and Ventura. Recognizing an untapped market niche in 2009, Portnahinch began importing and distributing Leno Net bags and Mono Filament bags for firewood and kindling packaging in large quantities across Ireland and the UK. Fast forward to 2018, the company proudly introduced its own brand of forestry machinery - EHS, which garnered significant success and further propelled the business's growth trajectory.
